A rotary welding SPM rotates the component under a fixed torch so the weld path, speed and dwell are governed by the machine. For circumferential welds this removes the hardest part of manual welding — maintaining constant travel speed all the way around — and delivers a uniform bead that does not depend on who is on shift.
