A pneumatic clinching machine joins two or more sheets by pressing a punch into a die, cold-forming the material into an interlocking button. Because it runs on your existing shop compressed air, running cost is close to zero: there are no rivets, no screws, no welding wire, no shielding gas and no electrode dressing. The joint is formed in a single stroke, so cycle times are short and the operation is easy to train an operator on.
Typical applications
- Galvanised and pre-painted sheet, where welding would burn the coating
- Joining dissimilar metals such as aluminium to steel
- Electrical enclosures, panels, cabinets and switchgear housings
- HVAC ducting and ventilation assemblies
- Automotive brackets, clips and mounting plates
