A hydro-pneumatic machine runs on your existing compressed air line but multiplies that pressure through an air-over-oil intensifier, so you get forces approaching a hydraulic press without installing a hydraulic power pack. In practice it is the middle option: noticeably more force than a purely pneumatic machine, but with the simpler installation, lower running cost and lower maintenance burden of an air-driven system.
